ABOUT

What's This All About Then?

In short, we own a catalogue of prints, photographs and illustrations which, as a company, we want to offer our target market - fellow authors, bloggers, writers and other creatives, giving them the chance to license and reuse these images in their own works. All for a fraction of the cost we have ourselves had to pay.

The library on this website is ever-growing, and includes portraits, historic figures, buildings, books, magazine and newspaper illustrations, landscapes, medical sketches, fashion...the list goes on.

But best of all, everything you see has been scanned from a copyright-free original, meaning all you pay for is the scan itself.

SO who are we?

As the lead author, my name is David J. Vaughan, published author of several history and local interest titles. The Little Book of Herefordshire, Bloody British History Salisbury (both The History Press), Mad or Bad (Pen and Sword) and more.

And I discovered (painfully) how difficult it was - and still is - to acquire low-cost images to illustrate commercial works.

So we set about curating old, 'out-of-copyright' images and invested the money and time to scan every one so others like us now have somewhere to go.

Our solution

Perhaps you write a 'paid-for' blog and need commercial re-use of an illustration. Or have a local history book going to print. Or you're printing a new guide about your passion for architecture, nature, famous people or artists...

For just £10 per image per project, you can use the scans you license for almost any legitimate purpose. This includes (but not limited to) publishing a book, designing a flyer, submitting articles for magazines, or any of the seemingly endless opportunities to showcase your creative talent online.

SO Act Now!

Immerse yourself in this ever-growing website, choose the image(s) you like and submit your "no strings" License Request on here. Simply tell us the resolution you need (between 96-300dpi), the digital format you want (if we can't do it we'll suggest a reasonable alternative) and the project your completing.

We'll then send you a draft license and payment link and only once you go ahead through making payment, we'll send your digital download via email or file transfer. If you don't want to go ahead just ignore our message.

We think it couldn't be easier - or fairer.

Thank you for your interest in what we do. Ours is an ongoing project and a real labour of love. Our motivation is to help creatives obtain the commercial rights we all need...without breaking the bank.

From one author to another...write on!
